Hailing from the cornfields of Illinois, and a multi-generational farm family to boot, I very much enjoy this piece.

-- If memory serves Native Americans (Grandpa told me we have a mite touch of Sioux, cool.) were a very sun-centric people. Your yellow skies with white stalked ears, does this great reverence.

-- For some reason, the climbing brave brings to mind Jack & the Beanstalk. Just a bit of whimsy, but instead of climbing for giants... it's a corn woman. The image lends feelings of desire, pursuit (perhaps the flying deer add to this as well), love & empowerment.

-- Overall it's a very warm piece that is comforting. The central cornstalk framed either side by beasts & vegetable, with humankind (some striving, some surmounting) within it all. It is a hopeful work of harmony.

-- There is a very slightly noticeable darkness to the piece as well. Just enough shadow beneath the green & some hints of deeper shades of yellow. This is without a doubt a piece about life, but it carries some night with it as well. In this aspect the white stalks are somewhat ghostly.

This one gets a fave. Stellar work. Can't draw to save my life, but love to stumble upon & dwell on such as this.
